A Message from our President

Families, Friends, and Future Riding Partners;

Just a quick note to share my excitement about 2011! We here at the Cascade Family Motorcycle Club (CFMC) have many exciting things on our plate for 2011. We are cutting back on our NMA events this year, to provide more time for family fun. Still with two scheduled NMA events, monthly club member events, hundreds of hours of trail maintenance planned, and a strong desire to "just go have fun riding!" 2011 will be a very busy year.

Even though we are cutting back from four events to two, we will be working as hard as ever to make each of our events amazing. We are moving our flagship event, the Black Bear Enduro from late in the year (typically November) to June 12th for 2011. This is an “old school” Enduro that will keep you on your game for every minute. Please make sure you mark this change on your calendars. Back in 2009 we dropped our longest running NMA event, the Super Dirt Poker Run. Great news for 2011, we are bringing back the “Super Dirt”. This year it will be a Motorcycle only Trail ride at Capital Forest. We are moving the date from a traditional June date to October 16th in an effort to move from the "super dust" to a "super dirt" event! However given the Pacific Northwest weather patterns it could easily become a "super mud" event! Regardless it will be a SUPER event. We will have multiple loops for almost every skill level. So make sure and mark your calendars.

This year's monthly club events are also very exciting. These events are for club members, prospective members, and their guests. 2011 is looking like another banner year for our events, with truly something for everyone. We start with some of our club taking a trip to the California Desert for a week of riding. Another trip in early-Summer is a week-long trip to Moab, UT for some off-road riding. In Mid-Summer we have a long weekend of camping and riding over the 4th of July Holiday. If you are up for a "ride till you drop" event’ come on out in November for Dean's Death Ride, an event that covers trails you haven't heard of (and may never want to ride again!). Of course even this event has non-rider activities, like an easy loop for beginners, camping, cooking out, and fun in general. There are numerous other riding and non-riding events throughout the year. While the rule of thumb for our events is "everyone is responsible for their own good time." Whether it’s bench racing around a camp fire, crashing in front of all your friends, or a trail maintenance day giving back to the forest with your family. You will be hard pressed to NOT have a good time!

Our club again plans to take a leading role in giving back to the sport. We will be working very hard to strengthen our relationship with organizations like the Department of Natural Resources. I am very proud of the work our club has done in the past years and I look forward to another great year. If you are an individual that wants to give something back to the sport, contact us about our next work party. We are out there every month doing our part to make the trails safer for both the rider and the environment.

Well I better wrap this message up; I have two kids that want to go riding this weekend, and their bikes are in parts/pieces on the garage floor.

See you on the trails,
Bret Kreier
CFMC President

Do You Have What it Takes?

If you like riding, camping, and hanging out with friends you may in fact have what it takes! You have to also be willing to give a little back to the sport, via work parties and sharing riding tips with newer riders. If this sounds like you, we here at CFMC are always looking to expand our circle of friends via new members! Click here to send us an email. We will be happy to share more information about the club and review with you what is required to become a member of the Cascade Family Motorcycle Club,  Or  Click Here to download and view a CFMC Membership Packet
